Pastor Travis Walker has pastored the New River Valley Seventh-day Adventist church since July 2012. He finds real joy in proclaiming the three angels messages and leading souls to Christ. He also has a passion for helping seeking individuals to develop a deeper relationship with Christ and discovering their ministry potential. He also believes creating an environment where Christian fellowship and fun can flourish is essential to the success of his ministry.
Pastor Travis attended Andrews University from 1997-2003. While enrolled there he gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized during an evangelistic crusade live on TV. In 2001, Pastor Travis began to sense that God had a greater purpose for his life and volunteered to be a student missionary for a year on the little pacific island of Ebeye, in the Marshall Islands. It was while serving there that he experienced God in a more real and powerful way than he ever had before and strongly felt the call to ministry. After returning home Pastor Travis completed his Bachelor’s of Business Administration (B.B.A) in Management and graduated in 2003.
Pastor Travis then enrolled in the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary. It was while studying there that he met his wife Judith. Soon after that, in January 2005, he received a call to serve in full-time ministry by the Arkansas Louisiana Conference. After 2 ½ years serving in Southern Louisiana they returned to the Seminary where Pastor Travis graduated with his Masters of Divinity in 2008. After Graduating, Pastor Travis was called to pastor a church district in South Central Arkansas, which he served effectively for almost 4 years. During that time he was officially ordained to the gospel ministry in 2010.
Some of Pastor Travis’s other passions include being a fun-loving dad to his beautiful daughter, playing guitar, writing, traveling, hiking, running, golf, tennis, and basketball.
